About Me

When searching for inspiration for images, I return time and time again to old family photos and home movies. There was once a time when shooting film was as common as taking an iphone selfie, and all of our memories were stored in old books. Our grandparents weren’t always worried about the perfect shot, they were just trying to capture the moment. And a lot of times, they were quite good at it! I love the way true film can take you back in time to moments otherwise forgotten about — once the image finally reaches you, that memory comes flooding back.

I shot my first roll of Super 8 on a trip to Puerto Rico with friends in 2021 and the rest is history. I took my little camera along with me to friends weddings, family holidays, on my travels — until all of a sudden I was in Columbia, South Carolina on an annoyingly hot day in October, shooting my first full wedding day for a couple of friends that believe in the joy and preservation of video film the same way I do.

I’m passionate about the idea that “less is more” when it comes to shooting film. In a world of overconsumption and wedding galleries that are hundreds, even thousands of digital images, I prefer to take my time and capture the most meaningful moments of a day. When the sun is hitting your face just right. When the joke lands and the entire room is laughing. When the big reveal happens and there is genuine surprise. I care about capturing the best moments instead of every single second. It only takes a few rolls and an immense amount of care.

In my video work, I work with my friend Ethan Taylor — my secondary filmmaker and colorist from Atlanta, GA. He’s my second set of eyes on your wedding day and in the editing room, making sure you have the most beautiful color and texture in your film.

I am currently located in Kansas City, Missouri but am always moving around and able to travel anywhere!
